5 Days Cairo & Luxor Private Tour Package
- 4 nights Cairo
- Domestic flight to Luxor

Five and six days are the shortest Egypt packages we run that join Cairo to a second city by domestic flight. Both are private and Egyptologist-led, and they start from $950 per person. The 5 day package covers Giza, Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum and a day in Luxor. The 6 day package swaps Luxor for Aswan and Abu Simbel. Is 5 days enough? For the headline sights, yes. Neither package includes a Nile cruise: the packages with cruise nights start at 7 days.
Both packages are private, with your own Egyptologist guide, a private air-conditioned vehicle and entrance fees for the sites on the itinerary. Jump to a length below, or compare the two side by side in the table.
Four nights in Cairo and one day in Luxor by domestic flight. Days 2 and 3 cover Giza, Saqqara, Memphis, the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and Khan El Khalili; day 4 is Luxor and day 5 is departure.
Three nights in Cairo, a flight to Aswan and a night there, then an early start for Abu Simbel on day 5 before flying back to Cairo for the last night. Day 6 is departure.
Nights, stops and flights are read from each package's itinerary, so the table matches the tour pages.
| Days | Package | Cairo nights | Nile cruise nights | Other stops | Domestic flights | Not on the itinerary | From, per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5 Days Cairo & Luxor Private Tour PackageCairo | 4 | – | Luxor day trip | Domestic flight on day 4 | Aswan, Abu Simbel, a Nile cruise | $950 |
| 6 | 6 Days Cairo and Aswan with Abu Simbel TempleCairo → Aswan → Cairo | 4 | – | Aswan, 1 night Abu Simbel, day 5 | Cairo to Aswan & return | Luxor, a Nile cruise | $1,050 |
How to read it: day 1 is your arrival night and the last day is departure with no night, so a 5 day package has 4 nights and a 6 day package has 5. 'From' is the lowest rate in the package's price table, per person.
Counting the arrival day and the departure day, a 5 day package has four nights and a 6 day package has five. That is enough for Giza, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and for one trip south by air.
It is not enough for a night on the Nile. Neither itinerary includes a Nile cruise. The 5 day package does not reach Aswan or Abu Simbel, and the 6 day package does not reach Luxor. If a cruise is the part of Egypt you most want, the packages with cruise nights start at 7 days.
Choose 5 days if Luxor is your priority. You stay four nights in Cairo and fly to Luxor for the day, which gives you Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut in a single day, before you fly home on day 5. Because Luxor is a day trip, think of it as Luxor in a day, not a stay.
Choose 6 days if you want Aswan and Abu Simbel. You spend three nights in Cairo, fly to Aswan for the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae, and visit the Abu Simbel temples on day 5, before flying back to Cairo. You give up Luxor in exchange.
It is enough for the headline sights if you accept one trade-off. With four nights in Cairo and a single day in Luxor, you see Giza, Saqqara, the museum and Luxor's temples, but not Aswan or the Nile by boat. If you can spare two more days, the 7 day package is the shortest one with a Nile cruise.

One line per package, taken from what its itinerary includes.
Travellers who want Cairo's main sights and Luxor's temples in the shortest private package.
Travellers who want Aswan and Abu Simbel as well as Cairo, with no Nile cruise.
These inclusions apply to both packages. Each tour page lists its own nights.
The from prices on this page are $950 for the 5 day package and $1,050 for the 6 day package, per person. They are not directly comparable. The 6 day package shows one per-person rate. The 5 day package has a price table by group size and season, and its from price is the lowest rate in that table, so the rate for a small group will be higher. Always read the table on the tour page for your own party.

Moving from 6 to 7 days changes the shape of the trip rather than adding one more sight. The 7 day package has three nights in Cairo and three on a Nile cruise between Aswan and Luxor, with flights each way, and starts from $1,020. See all 7 to 9 day packages.
Giza, the Egyptian Museum and a day in Alexandria, from $400.
