Best Egypt Tour Packages

Egypt tour packages take you from the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo to the ancient temples of Luxor and Aswan — Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Abu Simbel, and Philae Temple — all with a licensed Egyptologist guide who has studied these sites formally, not simply memorized a script.

Combine the pharaonic south with the Red Sea coast — Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh — for a trip that balances millennia of history with beaches, coral reefs, and warm water. Every Misk Tours package is 100% private, meaning your itinerary, pace, and start times are entirely your group’s, from the first transfer to the final farewell.

Travel Safety: Is Egypt Safe to Visit in 2026?

Yes — with clear, factual context. All established tourist zones remain fully accessible and heavily monitored by Egypt's Tourist Police. Here is what the official advisories say.

US State Department Advisory

Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution

Egypt is currently rated Level 2 by the US State Department — the same level assigned to France, Germany, Italy, and dozens of other popular tourist destinations. This rating is due to terrorism, crime, and health considerations, not an acute travel warning.

As of April 2026, the US Embassy in Cairo is open and operating normally. Egyptian airspace and all commercial airports remain operational. Specific “Do Not Travel” zones are limited to Northern and Middle Sinai and certain parts of the Western Desert — neither of which features in any Misk Tours itinerary.

  • Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan — fully accessible
  • Red Sea (Hurghada, Marsa Alam)— fully accessible
  • Alexandria, Sharm El Sheikh— accessible
  • N. & Middle Sinai, Western Desert— Do Not Travel

How Misk Tours Protects You

Every Misk Tours itinerary operates exclusively within Egypt’s established, heavily-policed tourist zones. Egypt’s dedicated Tourist Police (dial 126) patrol all major archaeological sites. We have been operating tours through Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan since 2015 without a single safety incident.

Our standard safety protocols:

Always check the most current advice from your own government’s travel advisory service before departure, as safety situations can change. The information above was accurate as of May 2026.

Money & Currency

Egypt’s currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). USD and EUR are widely accepted at tourist sites. ATMs are available in all major cities. Carry small bills for tips and local vendors. Credit cards are accepted in hotels and most restaurants.

What to Wear

Lightweight, breathable clothing for sites and cities. Cover shoulders and knees when entering mosques, and some temples — scarves or a light layer are useful. Sunhat and sunglasses are essential. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.

Sun & Hydration

The Egyptian sun is intense year-round. Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen daily and reapply often. Drink at least 2–3 litres of water per day when sightseeing. Bottled water is inexpensive and available everywhere. Avoid tap water.

Photography

Photography is permitted at most outdoor sites. Inside certain tombs and museums, a camera ticket is required (usually $5–15 USD). Ask your Egyptologist guide before shooting. The golden hours — sunrise and sunset — are spectacular at Giza and Luxor Temple.

Health & Medications

No vaccinations are required for Egypt, but Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and up-to-date routine vaccines are recommended. Bring any prescription medication in original packaging with a doctor’s note. Travel insurance with medical cover is strongly advised.

Culture & Etiquette

Egyptians are famously warm and hospitable. A small tip (bakshish) is customary for good service — EGP 20–50 per person for guides at sites. Greet locals with “As-salamu alaykum”. Ask permission before photographing people. Bargaining is expected in souks.

Yes. The U.S. Department of State currently classifies Egypt as Level 2: Exercise High Caution, the same level as France, Italy, and Germany. Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and the entire Red Sea coast are accessible and patrolled by the Egyptian Tourist Police (call 126). "No Travel" areas are limited to North and Central Sinai and parts of the Western Desert, and these areas are not included in any of Misk Tours' itineraries.
