Royal Princess Nile Cruise: 3 or 4 nights?
The Royal Princess sails the classic Luxor–Aswan route on two programs: 4 nights south from Luxor every Monday, or 3 nights north from Aswan every Friday.
Which program should you choose?
The 4-night program from Luxor sails against the current and gives you slightly more time: Karnak and Luxor Temple on arrival, a full morning on the West Bank, the Esna lock, Edfu, Kom Ombo and a full day in Aswan. The 3-night program from Aswan sails with the current and is a little faster-paced — Philae, the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk on day one, then Kom Ombo, Edfu and both banks of Luxor.
Life on board
Cabins come with private balconies overlooking the Nile. Dining features international and Egyptian cuisine, and the pool, spa and evening shows — including the Galabiya party — keep the afternoons and evenings relaxed between temple visits.
Combining the cruise with Cairo
Most travellers add 2–3 days in Cairo for the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Our 7-Day Cairo & Nile Cruise by Flight combines both with domestic flights, or we can build a custom itinerary around the Royal Princess sailing day you choose.
Good to know
Entry to Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings requires an additional fee. Drinks on board, tips and optional excursions such as Abu Simbel are not included. Check-out on the last day is at 8:00 AM.
